Are wisdom teeth all that wise?

So two weeks after Kalli was born I had to have one of my wisdom teeth taken out. When I am pregnant my wisdom teeth move up and down constantly and cause me so much pain. But there isn't much you can do about it when you're pregnant. After Kalli was born my left wisdom tooth decided to come up, cut up my gums which caused an infection and made me miserable. The experience was awful, I would much rather have gone through labor than do that again. The doctor couldn't believe how bad it was. I was in so much pain before it came out that the recovery was pretty easy because the pain was less.
Before we left Phoenix my dentist that I LOVED told me I needed to go to an oral surgeon for my other three because one was growing in really funny. With Kalli's surgery and our move I just got into the dentist and was told the same thing.
Come Wednesday I will have an IV inserted (AHHHH) and given anesthesia to get my teeth out. I won't be completely under but I won't be able to feel anything (at least that's what they say).
I couldn't be more nervous. It hurt SO bad last time and I am scared out of my mind, although my dentist made me feel comfortable. Also, Joe took SUCH good care of me last time that I know I will be in good hands. Please ease my fears because I can't stop thinking about it!
Also, I am cursing my parents for not getting my wisdom teeth out when I was a teenager. I wouldn't be paying the price for it now.
(P.S Darren- thanks for the recommendation, he was great!)

Sorry you have to go through that but it is best to just get it all done at once. What cuties! We never get tired of seeing pictures.

Hey also you don't have to feel guilty about drinking milkshakes either. Woohoo! Stock up on icecream.

You won't feel anything! I promise. You may even fall asleep, I did! I woke up and it was all over. It will be fine. Just think that you will have this all behind you in a few weeks!

From an OS's wife and former patient: The I.V. method is the way to go. It'll make the entire experience very pleasant indeed.

That totally stinks, but it really isn't that bad. I too was knocked out and did noy have that bad of a recovery. I totally understand pregnancy and tooth issues, I have had 3 root canals since having children, because being pregnant kills my teeth. The things we do for kids!

They completely knocked me out which is always fun and when I woke up I went to my high school football game! I had a little swelling but I didn't have to take one pain pill. Goood luck!

I've had 21 teeth pulled! 13 baby teeth, 4 permanent teeth (because my mouth was too small) and 4 wisdom teeth. And I think my wisdom teeth hurt the very least!!! Mine were impacted also so they put me under but as long as you keep ice on them after, your cheeks probably won't even get that swollen. I think I took one pain killer after and was fine. But if Joe takes such good care of you...milk it for all its worth ;) Sorry Joe!

Do you remember when I got mine out? Ugh, it was horrible. But not everyone has a hard time. We will hope you recover quickly!
